September 2010 – Grand commemoration celebrations were held in Chennai marking the 80th birth year of the living legend Shri. Lalgudi Jayaraman.
Continuing the commemoration, Smt. LalgudiVijayalakshmi presents “Arpanam”- a Musical tribute to her guru. This twin special concert will be held in Chennai and Bangalore in March 2011
The occasion will mark the release of a CD “NathaNatana” a vocal rendition by LalgudiVijayalakshmi of the evergreen thillanas composed by the Maestro. This CD will be available through “Times Music”
In this initiative, LalgudiVijayalakshmi (Vocal and Violin) collaborates with
Murad Ali (Sarangi), Mr. Anil Srinivasan(Piano).
Accompanying them in the concert will be K Arun Prakash (Mridangam),
SaiShravanam (tabla) and B.S. Purushotham (kanjira)

This fund raiser concert by the “Lalgudi 80 Trust” is towards supporting the “Aishwarya Trust’ initiative – a fund to help corrective heart surgeries for children suffering from Congenital Heart Defects (CHD). Aishwarya trust has in a short span of 2 ½ years helped 288 underprivileged children to get corrective surgery. Contributions to the trust are exempt under Section 80 G.
