Yesterday, gamers, reporters, and fans of the acclaimed Killzone franchise were in for a complete treat as Sony released Killzone 3 for PS3 in Mumbai, India. Befitting the visual and audio attributes the game boasts about, the unveiling aptly took place at a cinema theater in the city. Announcing the actual release of the action-packed title was Atindriya Bose, Country Manager-PlayStation.
Attendees were treated to a few video clips that played across the big screen portraying the making of Killzone 3. There were behind the scenes footage of voice talents and in-game scenes that all helped this particular iteration become a cinematically advanced game. The company revealed that players can expect a complete feature length film rather than just only a video game thanks to its cinematic special effects and other features.
The onscreen action was brought to life through the High Definition, 3D splendor and terrifying audio soundtrack. The developers of the title have also roped in the likes of Malcolm McDowell and Ray Winstone to fit the roles of the sadistic Helghast warlord Jorhan Stahl and Admiral Orlock individually. The scenes flowed out brilliantly as the incorporation of 3D technology also added that extra punch to the overall game experience.
At the event, gamers got to try their hand at the much-awaited Killzone 3 in all its various forms. As the game is compatible with the PlayStation Move accessory, we could indulge in gameplay with just the Move and Navigation controllers to achieve a more immersive experience. The brutal new close-combat system enabled us to deliver a brutal close-combat attack to the evil Helghast such as stabbing them at close quarters or poking their eyes out.
Talking about the various forms of SKUs, Atindriya Bose said at the launch that the title can even be purchased in Killzone 3 Collector’s Edition. This offering comes inclusive of an authentic Helghast Helmet replica along with a SteelBook case and exclusive 100-page Killzone 3 art book, ‘Cloaking Helghast Marksman’ action figure and the Killzone 3 soundtrack. Furthermore, owners will be able to get their hands on a PlayStation Network voucher code which unlocks all deadly weapons and abilities.
The stand-alone Killzone 3 game can be purchased for Rs. 2,499 while the Helghast bundle and Limited edition are individually priced at Rs. 7,990 and Rs. 2,799.
